Free self-assessment
How ready is your business for an exit?
Twelve questions. About four minutes. You get a score out of 100, a breakdown across the four areas buyers look at, and the three changes most likely to raise what your business is worth. Your results appear on screen immediately and you can save them as a PDF.
Your Exit Readiness Score
Your three biggest gaps, and what to do about them
What this score means
Buyers pay for a business that runs without its owner, has numbers they can trust, keeps its customers when the owner leaves, and comes with an owner who knows what they want. Every point you add in the four areas above tends to show up in the price, the terms and how many buyers show up.
The score is a self-assessment. It is not a valuation. The full version, the Owner Diagnostic, puts a number on the business and a 24-month plan behind it.
Midnite Industries, Inc. is an operating holding company, not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, law firm or accounting firm. This assessment is for education only.
How it is scored
Four areas, one number.
Each question is worth up to three points. The total is scaled to 100. The four areas are weighted equally because a weakness in any one of them can stall a sale.
Owner dependence
Can the business run for a month without you? Who makes the decisions? Is the way it works written down anywhere?
Financial clarity
Are the books current, do you know your true profit, and could a buyer verify it without untangling your personal life from the P&L?
Transferable value
How much revenue repeats on its own, how concentrated it is, and whether the customers belong to the business or to you.
Exit plan
Whether you know what the business is worth, what you need from it, how a sale would be taxed and when you want to step back.
Score bands
0 to 35: The business is you. 36 to 60: Foundation stage. 61 to 80: Nearly ready. 81 to 100: Exit ready.
